Velvet is a huge trend for fall, and it definitely no longer has to be saved for special occasions! Velvet can be great for work and weekends, and for today’s look, I went for a little rock-n-roll glam!
I love the drapey minimalist feel of this velvet slip dress. The fact that it has an asymmetrical hem and is a pretty rose pink are definitely added bonuses.
The moto jacket kept me somewhat warm as the temperatures dropped dramatically last weekend. It was soooo windy though, and my hair got all kinds of crazy during the shoot. And that wind was cooooold! I am soooo not looking forward to winter!!! lol
I really loved the idea of giving this outfit a daytime glam appeal, and the metallic boots and purse definitely do just that! I wore this look to lunch and to run errands with my daughter because that is the extra type of mom that I am! While I had fun rocking this look during the day, I would definitely also wear it for an evening out or layer over a t-shirt and pair with sneakers for a more subdued and casual look.I have already resisted buying a few other velvet pieces this season, but as I am drawn to the soft tactile sensation that is velvet, I have no doubt that I will succumb to the urge again soon! It’s one of those fabrics that just screams fall/winter to me, and the fact that it can dressed up or down is a real plus. Are you feeling velvet for fall? Do you wear it just for special occasions or everyday?
