Wild Card Wednesday: Maximum Lace

Being so petite (4’9″) definitely can make life hard at times.  I can never reach the top shelves.  I can’t reach the gas pedal in a lot of vehicles or see over the dash in others.  And clothes almost always have to be altered, sometimes considerably!
But being petite also has some benefits, and I’ve also learned how to shop in ways that minimize alterations and to think outside of the box when it comes to garments.  For example, midi length skirts and dresses can sometimes work as maxi dresses.  This ELOQUII dress is a recent example. It required no alterations at all! And, while it was supposed to be a midi length dress, it fit me perfectly as a maxi dress, which gave this black lace off-the-shoulder piece a much more casual vibe.
I love this dress for summer, and it was perfect for shopping and dinner out with the family during a recent road trip.
I added turquoise and silver jewelry to accentuate the more casual, bohemian vibe.  Orange lipstick adds another fun pop of color.
I love wearing black in the summertime and think it gets a bad rap as “too hot” during summer.  This dress is a comfortable piece that will get a lot of rotation this summer.  It’s lined, but both layers are lightweight making it a breezy option for warm weather.
If you’re petite, are there any hacks you use for getting a better fit, minimizing alterations, etc.?
