Soft Pleats

I am all about pieces that multi-task.  In fact, I rarely ever buy a piece that I can’t wear in at least two ways.  This silky pleated skirt is definitely a versatile piece, and today, I styled it two different ways.
For the first look, I went for a retro-inspired weekend look with a tie-front crop top, tapestry sandals and jeweled cat eye sunglasses.  I love how this look feels both modern and vintage, and it’s such an easy breezy look!Last fall, I snapped a few pics of this skirt styled for work with a polka dot trench coat and embellished booties. A glittery brooch added some additional embellishment.
I’m currently coming up with some more ways to style this skirt.  I’m thinking about mixing it up with some pastels and pale neutrals for lighter, brighter summer days.  The chocolatey brown shade of this skirt makes it a good year-round neutral.
When you shop, do you look for pieces that can do double-duty?
