Shop Your Closet: Valentine’s Day Round-Up

What are you planning on doing for Valentine’s Day?  Anything special?  If you’re planning an evening out with your significant other, a first date, or night out with the girls, you may be tempted to get a new outfit.  By all means, if you’re looking for a new look, shop away.  But, you might have the perfect outfit already in your closet!  So, if you’re trying to save a few bucks or just need a little outfit inspiration, tonight’s Shop Your Closet is full of ideas that would be perfect for a range of V-Day plans!

Shop Your Closet:  The Red Suit
First up is an all-red look.  I love a monochromatic look, and while I normally stick with neutrals, red is a powerful statement color.  It is, of course, also the color of love and perfect for Valentine’s Day!!

Snow and Sable
Sticking with a suit, this black velvet suit is a great look for Valentine’s Day!  It’s still super cold in many parts of the world, so why not stay cozy while still looking super sleek and sexy in a velvet suit paired with a bra for an on-trend lingerie as clothes look?

Dress Week:  Mixing Decades
If it’s warm where you are (or you have a warm coat to layer on top), try a lace dress with a drop-waist and cute statement shoes.

Wild Card Wednesday:  Denim Crush
Looking for a more casual look?  Pair a bodysuit with your favorite skinnies and a pair of heels.  A long-length blazer maintains warmth while adding to the style statement.

Wild Card Wednesday:  More is More
Try feathers, tapestry, and mixed prints for a sweet but bold style statement.  Swap out the culottes for full-length pants or a skirt with tights to add additional warmth.

Gilding The Lily
A golden maxi skirt elevates a bib-front tank and oversized blazer.  The overall effect is sophisticated and stylish.

Red Lips & Corset Details
There’s nothing like a flirty LBD.  Try one with corset details which are totally on-trend for spring!

Black for Spring:  Cutouts and Lace-ups
Another flirty little black dress, pair yours with pretty pops of colors and a faux leather jacket. Look for a black dress with interesting details like the lattice cut-out details on this one.

Put On Your Party Dress!
Tulle will always be one of my favorite options for a romantic, fantasy look.  This dress, with boy shorts layered under a sheer tulle skirt, is modern and fun!

The Dark Side of the Sun
I love wearing suits, or variations thereof, for dressy occasions.  The cropped pants make this suit a little different than your traditional 9-to-5 suiting options, while the crop top, neon heels, and sun buckle belt definitely say evening.

Manic Monday:  Couch Florals & Metallics
Want a pretty dress that isn’t pink, red, or black? Try a floral dress.  Pair with metallic heels or booties for a major style statement that doesn’t feel too sweet.

Tickled Pink:  Romance and Tulle
Or bring on the sweetness!!!  A pink tulle skirt is ultra-romantic.  Soft gold and beige additions add sophistication while maintaining the romantic vibe.

Manic Monday:  Office Holiday Party
Pair your velvet blazer with some silky pajama pants for after-work V-Day drinks.

Imitation Game:  Carrie from Sex and the City
A silky slip dress, floral brocade, and a touch of faux fur are perfect for a girls’ night out or a romantic Valentine’s Day date.

Date Night Maxi
A sheer overlay maxi skirt is a great way to show off those amazing gams while still getting the slightest touch of warmth.  A simple tank and cropped blazer complete the look.

Holiday Double Feature – Tuxedo Glam
A tuxedo is one of my absolute favorite dress-up options.  Taking a twist on the classic tuxedo, try pairing floral pants with a tuxedo blouse and jacket.

Saturday Slay:  The Tuxedo Dress
The only thing I love more than a tuxedo is a tuxedo mini-dress.  If it’s too cold to bare your legs or if you’re looking for a little more coverage, add a pair of faux leather leggings.

Wild Card Wednesday:  Winter White & Faux Fur
A winter white maxi dress paired with faux fur feels glamorous and sophisticated.  Wear for a romantic dinner date.

12 Days of Holiday:  Gilded Brocade
Brocade pants and an oversized bow-tie give this conservative (and warm!) look a super special feel.

Saturday Slay:  Pearls, Ruffles, and Lace
Pearls, lace, and sheer details elevate a casual denim look.  Wear this for dinner and a movie or drinks with the girls.

My 5th Blogiversary & an ELOQUII Giveaway
Nothing like leather and lace for a perfect mix of hard and soft elements.  The velvet heels add texture, color, and additional softness to the look.

Unconditional Body Beautiful – Part 4:  My Belly and Me
I love this look for a girls’ night out.  Architectural details, a crop top, and moto jacket feel super sleek when mixed with simple booties and a slim, oversized clutch.

Wild Card Wednesday:  The Wear-Ever Maxi Dress
Sheer details and mixed textures make this maxi dress a great option for just about any of your Valentine’s Day plans!

Fall 2013 Fashion Trends:  Lingerie-Inspired Clothing
A bustier top, corset seaming, and a pink and black color palette make this look sweet and sexy.  Throw on a cropped blazer for a little more coverage or added warmth.

Giving Sweet Thanks
A pink chiffon dress is super sweet.  Mixed with black tights and a moto jacket, the look isn’t too precious.

Wild Card Wednesday:  Unconventional Holiday Color
Try a shot of bold color and mix with faux fur and metallic accents.

Did any of the looks inspire you?  Any ideas on what you’re wearing for Valentine’s Day?  What are your plans, if any?
