The pajamas-as-real-clothes trend is still going strong this fall. I can’t get by with a full-on pajama look for the office, so for me, it’s about enjoying smaller doses of this trend by mixing pajama-inspired pieces with classic work wear options. For today’s Manic Monday, I styled these amazing silky pajama pants from Glamour x Lane Bryant for an office holiday party. The look is a little too dressy for a normal day of work, but it’s perfect for a daytime office party. For a normal day in the office, I would opt for a more classic suit blazer and a softer lip.
I haven’t been much of a Lane Bryant shopper, but they have really been stepping up their game in the last couple of years. Their collaborations with Christian Siriano and Prabal Gurung have been wonderful, and the Glamour Magazine line offers wearable, inspired fashion.
I have already featured a great duster jacket from the Glamour fall collection, and I’m really loving the drama of these wide leg trousers. The foulard fabric is menswear-inspired, while the elegant cut and tie-waist of these pants give them a definite women’s wear feel.
The trick to nailing the pajama trend is to stick to classic pajama or lingerie-inspired pieces. This trend is NOT about wearing your footie pajamas or ratty old t-shirts to the grocery store, no matter how comfy! 🙂 Done well, it’s a fun trend that can be incorporated into your work, weekend, or evening wardrobes.
Have you tried the pajamas as clothes trend? How do you wear it?
P.S. If you notice a little light red spot on my blouse in some of the photos, it was actually an adorable ladybug that decided to join in my photo shoot! 🙂
