Statement sleeves are a huge trend for spring, and I’m really loving the interesting shapes and details that give so much visual interest to the simplest of looks. For today’s Manic Monday, I styled two simple work looks. Black pants are a staple in my wardrobe, and there isn’t much that is easier than an outfit of black pants and a top.
For the first look, I am working with this blue and white striped top from the newest Who What Wear x Target collection. This top is so lightweight but somehow manages to not be too sheer. I paired the top with loose, slightly cropped trousers, slides, and layered gold necklaces. I really like the relaxed, comfortable feel of this outfit and how the clutch pulls the whole look together.
For the second look, I went with a little more structure. This ivory button down top from the Victoria Beckham x Target collection is shaped similarly to the striped shirtdress that has been ubiquitous this season. The dress was great, but didn’t work for my body – the shirt fit a little better, and I was impressed that there was absolutely no pulling or gaping in the bust area, something that never happens!
Have you checked out the great finds at Target lately? What do you think of the statement sleeve trend?
